The Ranney family farms over 1,200 acres in Ghent that were once a conventional dairy, now managed with intensive rotational grazing. Cattle and sheep are on a 100% grass and legume diet with no grain, antibiotics, added hormones, or animal by-products, and the farm holds Animal Welfare Approved certification. Kinderhook was the first farm in the country to receive AWA's Certified Grassfed label.

Beef, lamb, chicken, and eggs are sold at the farm store at 1958 County Route 21 in Valatie, open seven days a week from 9am to 6pm, through a 2026 Meatshare membership priced from $350 to $650, and via an online shop.
