Acme Feed & Seed
Acme Feed & Seed
American

Sources: Grass-fed, grain-finished beef patty, one named dish, press-sourced only

Multi-level restaurant and bar on Lower Broadway. Press coverage describes a burger made with "Bear Creek beef," but we could not independently confirm the specific claim on Acme's own site during verification. Bear Creek Farm's own site confirms it is grass-fed but grain-finished. Press source only, capped at our lowest confirmed tier until we can verify directly on their own menu.

Burger Up
Burger Up
Burgers

Sources: Pasture-raised, grain-finished beef, named supplier (Porter Road Butcher), whole menu

12 South burger spot with a second location in Franklin. Their own site states plainly: "we are proud that our beef is sourced from our friends at Porter Road Butcher." Porter Road's own site returned repeated rate-limit errors during verification; an independent, detailed product review (Carnivore Style) corroborates Porter Road's cattle are grass-fed but grain-finished, not grass-finished. Noted rather than excluded, a named-supplier, whole-menu claim in Burger Up's own words.

Cafe Roze
Cafe Roze
Cafe / Brunch

Sources: Pinewood Farms Grass Fed Burger, one named dish, named supplier

All-day cafe in the Five Points area of East Nashville. The day and takeout menu lists the "Pinewood Farms Grass Fed Burger" by name; Pinewood Farms, a biodynamic farm in Nunnelly, TN, independently confirms it raises grass-fed, grass-finished beef. A specific, named dish and supplier, though the separate dinner menu's plain "SmashBurger" carries no such claim, so this is confirmed for the day and takeout burger only.

Gabby's Burgers & Fries
Gabby's Burgers & Fries
Burgers

Sources: Grass-fed beef, named supplier (Gourmet Pasture Beef), whole menu

Burger counter in Wedgewood-Houston, one of the city's most consistently reviewed grass-fed burger spots. Their own dedicated page names the supplier directly: "Josh and Kathy Gunn are doing it right in Springfield, TN" (Gourmet Pasture Beef). Multiple independent farm directories corroborate that Gourmet Pasture Beef raises grass-fed, grass-finished cattle. Note: the supplier's own domain now redirects through what looks like a hijacked or parked-domain chain, so we cited Gabby's own page plus third-party farm directories rather than the supplier's site. A whole-menu grass-fed identity, in the restaurant's own words.

Grillshack
Grillshack
Burgers

Sources: Grass-fed, grain-finished beef, named supplier (Bear Creek Farm), single dish

East Nashville burger counter on Riverside Drive. Their own menu names the source for the signature burger: "A 5oz patty of grass-fed beef from Bear Creek Farm in Thompson's Station, TN." Bear Creek Farm's own site confirms it is grass-fed but grain-finished, not grass-finished. Noted rather than excluded, a named-supplier claim in Grillshack's own words for one specific dish.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Burgers

Sources: Grass-fed pasture-raised beef and bison, named burgers (chain policy)

Austin-founded burger chain with a location in Hillsboro Village. Their sourcing page lists "Grass fed pasture-raised, wagyu & heritage beef, responsibly raised" as a standing policy, and the national menu confirms it by name on specific burgers, including the Goodnight burger ("100% Grass Fed Pasture Raised Beef"). A standing sourcing policy in their own words, though not every burger on the menu carries the claim.

Husk Nashville
Husk Nashville
Southern

Sources: Grass-fed, grain-finished beef, named supplier (Bear Creek Farm)

Well-known Southern restaurant in Rutledge Hill. Their own Purveyors page names the source directly: "Bear Creek Farm, a sustainable grass-fed, grain finished cattle and hog farm, raises all-natural Angus beef." We're noting this rather than excluding it: the beef is grass-fed but grain-finished, not grass-finished, confirmed in Husk's own words about their own supplier. If a fully grass-finished program matters to you, ask before you order.

John Brown General & Butchery
John Brown General & Butchery
Butcher / Sandwiches

Sources: Grass-fed, grass-finished beef, whole-animal butchery and named dish (Cheeseburger)

Butcher shop and sandwich counter in Riverside Village, East Nashville. Their own menu states they butcher "whole-animal...grass-fed, grass-finished beef," and the Cheeseburger listing itself reads "Grass fed, grass finished four ounce house ground single or double patty." A whole-operation claim in their own words, tied directly to their core butchery business rather than a single-dish aside.

Pinewood Social
Pinewood Social
American / Bowling

Sources: Grass-fed beef patty, one named dish, press-sourced only

Bowling-and-cocktails restaurant near SoBro downtown. Edible Nashville, a regional food press outlet rather than a directory or listicle, describes Pinewood Social's signature item as "handcrafted, grass-fed beef patties." We were not able to independently confirm this on Pinewood Social's own site during verification; pinewoodsocial.com returned repeated rate-limit errors across multiple attempts. Named press source only, capped at our lowest confirmed tier until we can verify directly on their own menu.

The Southern Steak & Oyster
The Southern Steak & Oyster
Steakhouse

Sources: Grass-fed, grain-finished beef, named supplier (Bear Creek Farm), single dish

Downtown steakhouse at the Pinnacle at Symphony Place. Their own dinner menu names the Southern Burger as made with "Bear Creek Beef." Bear Creek Farm's own site confirms it is grass-fed but grain-finished. Noted rather than excluded, a named-supplier claim in the restaurant's own words for one specific dish.

True Food Kitchen
True Food Kitchen
Seasonal / Wellness

Sources: 100% grass-fed beef, chain-wide (all locations)

Fox Restaurant Concepts' wellness-focused chain, with a location at Vertis Green Hills. The same national program verified on our Los Angeles, Austin, and Denver pages: a named, dated trade press report (FSR Magazine, Aug. 29, 2023) quotes Verde Farms' SVP confirming the beef across all True Food Kitchen locations is "100 percent grass-fed on pastures where cattle roam free 100 percent of the time, no feedlots, ever." Covers beef only, chain-wide policy, not scoped to one location.

Yolan
Yolan
Italian

Sources: Grass-fed, grain-finished beef, named supplier (Bear Creek Farm), single dish

Italian restaurant at The Fairlane Hotel downtown. Their own menu names the signature Yolan Burger as made with "Bear Creek Farms beef." Bear Creek Farm's own site confirms it is grass-fed but grain-finished. Noted rather than excluded, a named-supplier claim in Yolan's own words for one specific dish.

Frequently asked questions

Are there grass-fed beef restaurants in Nashville?

Yes, more than a dozen by our count, though not all of them are grass-finished. John Brown General & Butchery (Riverside Village) butchers grass-fed, grass-finished beef in house. Gabby's Burgers & Fries (Wedgewood-Houston) names its grass-finished supplier, Gourmet Pasture Beef, directly on a dedicated page. Cafe Roze (Five Points) runs a Pinewood Farms Grass Fed Burger, also grass-finished. True Food Kitchen (Green Hills) and Hopdoddy Burger Bar (Hillsboro Village) carry their chain-wide grass-fed, grass-finished policies to Nashville. A second group, Husk Nashville, Grillshack, Yolan, The Southern Steak & Oyster, and Burger Up, name real suppliers (Bear Creek Farm or Porter Road Butcher) whose own sites describe their cattle as grass-fed but grain-finished, not grass-finished; we include these with that distinction stated plainly rather than leave them off. Pinewood Social and Acme Feed & Seed are included at our lowest tier on press-only claims we could not yet confirm directly. See each listing for exactly what's confirmed, by whom, and how the animal was finished.

What's the difference between grass-fed and grass-finished?

"Grass-fed" alone doesn't guarantee much, most cattle eat grass for part of their lives. What matters is how the animal was finished, the last stretch of weeks or months before processing, when many producers switch to a grain ration to add fat and speed growth. "Grass-finished" means the animal ate only grass and forage its whole life, including the finishing period. In Nashville, Bear Creek Farm and Porter Road Butcher, the suppliers behind several popular local restaurants, both say plainly on their own sites that their cattle are grass-fed but grain-finished. That's a legitimate, disclosed program, just a different one than fully grass-finished beef. We state the distinction on every listing so you can decide what matters to you.
